REACH Registration
Registration, one of the REACH processes related to the management of chemicals, requires companies to gather information about the chemical substances they produce or import, prepare together a joint dossier for each substance and submit this information to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
What is your role in the registration process?

REACH Evaluation
Once a dossier is submitted under the registration process, it might be subject to Evaluation under REACH.

Under dossier Evaluation, European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will evaluate all testing proposals. Of all dossiers per tonnage band 5% will undergo a compliance check by ECHA.

For substance Evaluation the Member States check if a substance can constitute a risk to human health or to the environment.

REACH Authorisation
Authorisation is the REACH process related to controlling the risk of substances of very high concern (SVHC) by authorising just specific uses and eventually when economically and technically feasible replacing them by suitable alternatives.

Substances on the Authorisation List cannot be placed on the market or used after the so called “sunset date” - unless an authorisation has been granted for a specific use, or the use has been exempted from authorisation.

Beyond REACH
Beyond REACH, there are also other chemical legislations that affect companies.
The CLP regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures) is the new system for classifying and labelling chemicals. It relates to the hazards of chemical substances and mixtures and how to inform others about them.
In a globalised world, other non European chemicals regulations may concern your company.
