IFF SIEF support

IFF - International Flavors & Fragrances - has chosen ReachCentrum to support its role under REACH as Lead Registrant for 5 substances. There were initially 13 pre-SIEFs that now merged into 5 SIEFs.

As a consequence of the REACH pre-registration, IFF has joined various Substance Information Exchange Forums (SIEFs). ReachCentrum is helping IFF in taking the lead to run the SIEFs for some of the substances they produce and need to register under REACH in 2010.

The technical content preparation of the registration dossiers will be managed by:

IFF (Lead Company) + TNO (Consultant) for Delta-Damascone and Zenolide
IFF (Lead Company) + Royal Haskoning (Consultant) for OTNE, HHCB and Cyclacet

The overall goal of the project is to coordinate the preparation of REACH registration dossiers in cooperation with other leading or involved SIEF members and share data and costs in a fair and transparent way. The dossiers will include a Chemical Safety Report, which will address manufacturing, compounding/formulation and end-use as fragrance ingredient in different applications, such as cleaning/washing products, cosmetics, and air care products.
