SIEF communication
The consortium has sucessfully established
SIEFs for all its substances.
Further information such as progress reports can be found in the chosen communication platform SIEFreach. You can sign on as free user and assign you to the SIEFs you are interested in.
Lead Registrants are:
-
INEOS GmbH for Acetone, AMS, CHP, Cumene, Highboilers and Phenol
-
Novapex for Acetophenone and Di-isopropyl benzene
-
CEPSA Quimica for Cumene Bottoms
Uses covered by the joint submissions
The REACH Regulation (EC N° 1907/2006) of the European Parliament and of the Council requires the communication for identifying uses for substances in the supply chain from the manufacturers/importers to the end users. The uses will be assigned and communicated in a standardised format, the 'ECHA Use Descriptor System'.
Engagement of the Downstream Users (DU)
As a Downstream User, it is important to ensure that your supplier within the European Union will register the product for the ways in which you use it. To support this registration please be prepared to provide information to your supplier about how you use the product. You should pay particular attention to the potential for human and environmental exposure.
Based on our first proposal and the feedback we got from our customers in the survey last November our consortium carried out the calculations of the exposure scenarios.
You will find here the generic exposure scenarios which the consortium will cover for Acetone (EC 200-662-2), Phenol (EC 203-632-7), Cumene (202-704-5), Alpha-Methyl-Styrene (AMS) (202-705-0) and Acetophenone (ACP) (202-708-7). This document is based on the ECHA Technical Guidance Document.
- Please check the appropriate proposed generic exposure scenarios,
- If you agree that the given proposal covers your uses no action from your side is required,
- In case you have questions concerning the generic exposure scenarios, please contact directly your appropriate supplier via the usual channels of communication. Your feedback is appreciated by the 9th of July, 2010 at the latest.
In the case that members of our consortium do not receive any feedback from you by the 9th of July, 2010, we will assume that the generic exposure scenarios are accepted by you.
